Shalom! I'm Rabbi Eric Abbott, Spiritual Leader of Bethesda Jewish Congregation.

Judaism can change our lives and make the world a better place, and my role as rabbi is to help individuals, families, and communities explore their relationships to that Jewish mission.

Whether you need a rabbi for a lifecycle event, are seeking a pastoral presence, or want to explore your Jewish identity, I can bring my skills and knowledge as a rabbi, educator, and leader to you and your loved ones.

I grew up at Temple Sinai in Cranston, RI and later graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a B.A. in Judaic Studies. I earned both a Masters in Religious Education and rabbinic ordination at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, running, watching cheesy sci-fi, and spending time with my beautiful and inspiring wife, Eliana, and our amazing children.
